“Mission Statement”

It is my mission to equip my students to be independent thinkers, capable of intelligently questioning (when necessary) the popular worldviews of today.  Moreover, I wish to equip my students with skills to enjoy, appreciate, express, and celebrate all that is good in great literature through the arts of written and spoken communication.

Mrs. VanHoose has been teaching 33 years.  She has taught for Whitley City Elementary; East Central High School, Indiana; McCreary Central high School; and Somerset High School.  This will be her second year with Somerset Christian School and we are blessed to have her on staff.

Mrs. VanHoose attended Cumberland College, Morehead State University, Purdue University, Union College, and Eastern Kentucky University.  She has earned a Bachelor Degree, a Masters in Education, and Rank 1. 

Mrs. VanHoose favorite scripture is Matthew 22:37   " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
